Jones’s grow a wide variety of produce. Our 42ft. polytunnel and rabbit proof compounds are home to our everyday shop ingredients. Then also there is the produce that Carol requires for her jams, chutneys, pickles and jellies.
This year has been particularly good for aubergines and courgettes, whilst the pumpkins, squashes, and hot chili’s are coming along nicely. We have over 80 blackcurrant bushes and there is over an acre of apple trees. This year Jones’s did very well at the Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival, winning two golds, a silver and a bronze award. Our homegrown vegetables are the main ingredient of our soups of the day, If we don’t grow it ourselves we source the freshest fruit and vegetables locally. The free range eggs we use are from Colehurst Cottages, they are fantastic with deep orange yolks. Everything that is made is on sale in Jones’s Market Drayton shop. If you ask a member of staff they will be happy to advise on what goes well with what. We sell hampers with wines, jams, chutneys and cordials that are very popular as gifts especially at Christmas.
